Background
Eureka Scientific is a California corporation founded in 1992 by eight research scientists of the University of California, Berkeley. It was created to promote the pursuit of scientific research in astrophysics and other related fields without the restrictions on principal investigator status placed on non-faculty scientific research staff.

Solar Beacon
Solar Beacon is an art installation on top of the Golden Gate Towers that reflects the Sun’s light throughout the Bay Area, calling attention to the man-made structure’s 75th anniversary using the brightest natural light available.
Eureka Scientific President John Vallerga and Treasurer Trish Dobson were principally involved in the project.
Astronomers Map Dark Matter in Massive Galaxies
A team of astronomers led by Dr. David Pooley of Eureka Scientific has made an important determination of the amount of dark matter in massive galaxies using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, providing independent evidence for the dark matter.
